Baker Hughes

Overview

Baker Hughes serves the worldwide oil and natural gas industry with reservoir consulting and products and services for drilling, formation evaluation, completion, and production.

Challenge

Business-critical applications required both Windows HPC Server 2008 and SUSE Linux, but budget didn’t allow for new system procurement for Windows applications.

Solution

Moab HPC Suite® from Adaptive Computing was deployed to dynamically provision between Windows HPC Server 2008 and SUSE Linux applications on the existing cluster.

Results

The intelligent management capability of Moab HPC Suite has delivered improved performance from the cluster to meet Linux resource requirements. ROI of the existing system has been increased by making resources available to support new Windows HPC Server 2008 applications.
